We at Arty are delight to have supported the production of new works by Seoul-based contemporary artist Youngkil Kang for his upcoming solo exhibition and Art fair in Busan.

Youngkil Kang is an artist who explores the boundaries between “photography and painting,” “figures and abstraction,” and “reality and virtuality.” Through his art, he questions the meaning of humanity and existence in the digital age. For more than 20 years, he has developed his own artistic style and held many exhibitions both in Korea and internationally. His work, especially the series focusing on visually reconstructed reality, has received a lot of attention.

For this exhibition, We have supported a group of 30 unique artworks. It was a big challenge for us and also a very exciting project.

We thought deeply about how we could express each piece’s message and world view as an art studio. Inspired by Kang’s strong passion, we used and developed UV printing techniques and added special hand-painted effects by our skilled artisans. These techniques helped bring out the deep and powerful atmosphere of each artwork.

The solo exhibition will open in Seoul, Korea, on 30th April.
And Art Busan, one of the big art fairs, will start on May 8th.

Exhibition Concept:
In today’s society, the boundary between reality and virtual worlds is becoming unclear due to the growth of digital systems. Even the ethics of life are being redefined. As a result, the original meaning of human dignity is being lost, broken down, and it is hard to return to values from before modern times. This exhibition expresses the feeling of living in such an era.
